Job summary

Extendicare Forest Trail LTC in Peterborough invites a dedicated Housekeeping Aide to join our compassionate team. The role focuses on cleaning resident apartments and common areas, maintaining a safe, sanitary environment, and supporting daily resident comfort.

You will follow cleaning schedules, use appropriate methods, and participate in training and quality improvement programs. Part-time hours and a supportive, inclusive workplace are offered by Extendicare.

Qualifications

• Good oral and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge and experience with standard cleaning techniques.
• Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Clean areas according to assigned schedules using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods and procedures.
• Clean residents' apartments and common areas, including furniture, fixtures, walls, ceilings, lights, vents, and windows.
• Operate floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment.
• Strip, scrub, spray, and buff all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces.
• Pick up garbage and transport it to designated areas.
• Adhere to residence policies and procedures, including safety rules and safe working practices.
• Prepare documentation as required according to residence policy.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings to stay updated.
• Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
