Job summary

Extendicare is looking for a part-time Dietary Aide to join Forest Trail Home in Peterborough, ON. You will assist with plating and serving meals, help with basic prep, and ensure proper cleaning of serving areas and equipment. The role requires food safety awareness and the ability to follow established policies.

You must have a High School Diploma and a valid Food Handler Certificate. Weekend and holiday availability is required, with shifts including evenings.

Extendicare offers rewarding and meaningful work where you can enrich your life and the lives of others. **This position is for our Forest Trail Home, located in 514 Deline St. Peterborough, ON K9K 1T3.** Available opportunities include Part-Time; 4 Hour Evening shifts Must be able to work Weekends and Holidays **What you’ll be doing** * Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences. Observes time limits for meal serving. Maintains foods at proper serving temperature.* Assists Cooks to clean and prepare such uncooked food as salads, vegetables, and fruits. Follows basic instructions in preparing such simple foods as breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes.* Clears plates and trays, loads, and operates dishwasher. Cleans pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.* Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.* Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.* Assembles nourishment carts. Stocks unit kitchenettes.* Participates in facility meetings as assigned.
