Job summary

Comfort Keepers in Vancouver is seeking compassionate, dependable individuals to provide non-medical in-home support for seniors and others who need help at home, promoting comfort, dignity, independence and quality of life.

As a housekeeper, you will offer companionship, assist with light housekeeping, follow each client’s Plan of Care, and document care notes while maintaining confidentiality. Travel to clients in Vancouver area may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR & First Aid Certification required.
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check preferred/required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation considered strong assets.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with honesty and integrity.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and light household assistance per Plan of Care.
• Offer social engagement and emotional support to clients.
• Follow Plan of Care to keep clients safe and independent.
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks (vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishwashing, bathroom/kitchen).
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and timely.
• Maintain client confidentiality and follow safety procedures.

Position Summary

The housekeeper provides companionship, emotional support, and light household assistance to clients while following each client’s individualized Plan of Care. This role plays an important part in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, non-medical care based on each client’s Plan of Care
• Offer companionship through conversation, reading, activities, and social engagement
• Support clients’ emotional well-being and mental alertness
• Assist with light housekeeping duties including:
  • Vacuuming
  • Dusting
  • Laundry
  • Dishwashing
  • Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and on time
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain client confidentiality

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
• Current CPR & First Aid Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records CheckValid driver’s license and reliable transportation are considered strong assets

Physical & Working Conditions

• Work performed within clients’ homes in the community
