Job summary

Comfort Keepers Victoria is seeking compassionate individuals to provide in-home care and light household assistance to seniors in Victoria, BC. You will follow each client’s Plan of Care to ensure safety, comfort, and independence in their own homes.

Responsibilities include companionship, emotional support, and light housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishes, and bathroom/kitchen cleaning.

Qualifications

• Requires CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and organized.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and light household assistance as per client Plan of Care.
• Support emotional well-being and social engagement.

Position Summary

The housekeeper provides companionship, emotional support, and light household assistance to clients while following each client’s individualized Plan of Care. This role plays an important part in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, non-medical care based on each client’s Plan of Care
• Offer companionship through conversation, reading, activities, and social engagement
• Support clients’ emotional well‑being and mental alertness
• Assist with light housekeeping duties including:
  • Vacuuming
  • Dusting
  • Laundry
  • Dishwashing
  • Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and on time
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain client confidentiality

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
• Current CPR & First Aid Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are considered strong assets
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and organized

Physical & Working Conditions

• Regular physical activity including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to 12 kg / 25 lbs) ---- -Manual dexterity and strength in both hands required
• Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
• Work performed within clients’ homes in the community

Our office serves seniors in Victoria and surrounding communities, including James Bay, Saanich, Oak Bay, Gordon Head, etc. This position may require travel to those areas – we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
