Job summary

HI Whistler is seeking a friendly Housekeeper to join our mountain team. You’ll work with fellow travellers, cleaning guest rooms and common areas, and coordinating with the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure rooms are ready for check-in.

Expect 6–7 hours of cleaning each day and a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere. Enjoy staff discounts, onsite accommodation, free HI stays across Canada, laundry and Wi‑Fi, and plenty of opportunities to explore Whistler in your time off.

Responsibilities

• Clean all guestrooms efficiently and effectively to ensure they are ready for check in time.
• Ensure all common areas, washrooms, showers and hallways are cleaned to our standard.
• Follow the hostel cleaning schedule.
• Communicate regularly with the Housekeeping Supervisor and the Night Auditor to ensure rooms are cleaned as needed.
• Perform laundry duties such as collecting linens and towels, washing, folding, and putting them away.

What you will be doing as a housekeeper

• This job is more than a housekeeping cart and a list of rooms to clean, it’s about being part of a team and interacting with like-minded travellers who are looking for local adventure. Work as a team to maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness of the hostel.
• Clean all guestrooms efficiently and effectively to ensure they are ready for check in time.
• Ensure all common areas, washrooms, showers and hallways are cleaned to our standard.
• Follow the hostel cleaning schedule.
• Communicate regularly with the Housekeeping Supervisor and the Night Auditor to ensure rooms are cleaned as needed.
• Perform laundry duties such as collecting linens and towels, washing, folding, and putting them away.

What we look for

• People who like to move and roll up their sleeves as you’ll spend 6-7 hours cleaning each day

• You’ll need to take pride in whatever you do. Our Housekeeping department has one of the most important tasks in our hostel, and we need teammates who understand that, and are keen to be part of delivering a great experience to our guests every day.
