Required Abilities
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to use basic computer software (email, internet, record management)
- Capability to respond appropriately in emergencies
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Understanding of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safe chemical handling
- Ability to participate in ongoing training
Qualifications
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Access to a reliable personal vehicle (well-maintained & with appropriate insurance)
- Completion of Grade 10
- Minimum one month of recent related experience
Requirements for Hiring & Ongoing Employment
- Criminal Record Check (renewed every five years)
- TB test
- Valid Work Safe BC-approved First Aid Certificate
- ICBC Driver’s abstract (personal driving record)
List of Duties
- We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Housekeeper to provide light housekeeping services to scheduled Better at Home participants.
Your Role:
- Create a welcoming environment
- Ensure cleanliness and safety
- Foster positive interactions with participants
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, wash, and disinfect participant areas (floors, carpets, counters, washrooms)
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop using various cleaning equipment
- Change and make beds as required
- Launder linens used in job duties
- Report any non-routine maintenance issues to the supervisor
- Work independently and respond effectively to participant requests
- Promote Inclusion Powell River’s commitment to diversity and respect for cultural differences
- Maintain records and report incidents as needed
- Attend team meetings and manager check-ins
- This is a one year contract with the possibility of extension.
- This position requires union membership.
