Job summary

HouseSitter.com, a not-for-profit with a strong community presence, seeks a Controller & Director, Corporate Services to join its Senior Leadership Team in London, Ontario. This broad role oversees financial stewardship, corporate services, risk management, technology, facilities, and organizational planning.

Reporting to the CEO, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, audit, internal controls, and provide strategic insights to the Board and Finance Committee, while guiding IT, data governance

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience.
• Non-profit or charitable accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and controls.
• Experience supporting executives, Boards or Finance Committees.
• Strong strategic thinking translating financial data into actionable guidance.
• Advanced Excel; Power BI and systems knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-term strategy.
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and annual audit.
• Provide insights to CEO, SLT, Board and Finance Committee.
• Oversee enterprise risk management, insurance, compliance and internal controls.

Our client is a well-established not-for-profit organization with a strong community presence and a meaningful mission. They are seeking a Controller & Director, Corporate Services to join their Senior Leadership Team and serve as a key strategic advisor to the CEO. This is a broad leadership role that extends beyond traditional finance, with oversight across financial stewardship, corporate services, risk management, technology, facilities and organizational planning.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller & Director, Corporate Services will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organization's financial and corporate functions.

• Oversee enterprise risk management, insurance, compliance and internal controls
• Provide strategic oversight of IT, data governance, procurement, administrative systems and facilities
• Support capital projects, organizational growth and long-term sustainability initiatives
• Drive process improvements, technology initiatives and data-informed decision making

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience
• A preference will be placed on those with NPO or charitable accounting experience
• Strong experience across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and internal controls
• Experience supporting executive leadership, Boards and/or Finance Committees
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate financial information into actionable recommendations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI and systems experience considered an asset
