Job summary

Elby Professional Recruitment supports a mission-driven nonprofit in Ontario seeking a seasoned Controller & Director, Corporate Services. You will report to the CEO and lead finance and corporate services, shaping strategy and ensuring governance, risk management and financial integrity.

You will oversee financial planning, budgeting, reporting and audits, and provide insights to the CEO, board and Finance Committee to guide sustainable growth and organizational impact.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience
• NPO or charitable accounting experience preferred
• Strong experience across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and internal controls
• Experience supporting executive leadership, Boards and/or Finance Committees
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate financial information into actionable recommendations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel; Power BI and systems experience considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial strategy
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, month-end close and annual audit
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, SLT, Board and Finance Committee
• Oversee enterprise risk management, insurance, compliance and internal controls
• Provide strategic oversight of IT, data governance, procurement, administrative systems and facilities
• Support capital projects, organizational growth and long-term sustainability initiatives
• Drive process improvements, technology initiatives and data-informed decision making

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller & Director, Corporate Services will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organization's financial and corporate functions.

• Manager two direct reports and lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial strategy

What We're Looking For
