Job summary

MasterBUILT Hotels Ltd. in Calgary is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance department for Courtyard & Residence Inn Calgary South.

You will ensure guest rooms, public areas, HVAC, electrical and plumbing are well maintained and compliant with safety standards, codes, and brand requirements. The role requires overseeing daily operations, hiring and training the maintenance team, and coordinating with contractors while managing budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a hotel maintenance role.
• At least 1 year in a leadership capacity.
• Experience with basic hand tools.
• WHMIS and First Aid certification preferred.
• Experience with budgeting and expenses.
• Experience with inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
• Hire, train, and manage the maintenance team, including scheduling and evaluations.
• Schedule staff in line with forecasted business and wage budget, and submit time sheets accurately.
• Ensure safety procedures and Emergency Action Plan are understood and followed.
• Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs and equipment servicing.
• Maintain records of safety logs, maintenance reports, and inspection documents.
• Communicate effectively with Guest Services and Housekeeping to manage off-market rooms.
