Job summary

Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality seeks a friendly Host to welcome guests and seat them promptly, ensuring a positive first impression. You will manage reservations and guest flow while coordinating with Front of House and Back of House teams to maintain smooth service.

The ideal candidate is experienced in guest-facing roles, with strong communication and organizational skills, and is able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Canadian work eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a host or guest-facing hospitality role is an asset.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
• Calm under pressure with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
• Valid Smart Serve Certification required to support service standards.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests in a warm, professional, and timely manner.
• Manage reservation and walk-in traffic using Open Table.
• Monitor table rotation and coordinate with teams to optimize guest flow.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the host stand and entrance area.
• Answer guest inquiries and assist with special requests or accommodations.
• Assist with bussing tables and running food and beverages as needed.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, our Hosts create a positive guest experience that begins with a proper greeting. They maintain an efficient and organized restaurant through managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity and communicating with all employees. Hosts leave a lasting impression with all guests through their professionalism and attention to detail.

The day to day:

• Greet and seat guests in a warm, professional, and timely manner
• Manage reservation and walk-in traffic using Open Table
• Monitor table rotation and coordinate with Front Of House and Back Of House teams to optimize guest flow
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the host stand and entrance area
• Answer guest inquiries and assist with special requests, wait times, or accommodations
• Support the overall guest experience with a friendly and attentive approach
• Assist with bussing tables and support the team by running food and beverages as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a host or in a guest-facing hospitality role is an asset
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Calm under pressure, with a proactive and team-oriented mindset
• Comfortable using reservation and table management systems (OpenTable) - preferred
• A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
• Valid Smart Serve Certification Required
• Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• This is a part time / full time position
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
