Job summary

OLIVER & Bonacini seeks a courteous Host for Canoe in Toronto to create a warm, efficient guest experience. You will manage guest flow, greet and seat guests, and coordinate with FOH/BH teams to optimize seating and service.

The role requires strong communication, a passion for hospitality, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Smart Serve certification is required, and you're legally eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a host or in a guest-facing hospitality role.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Calm under pressure, with a proactive and team-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable using reservation and table management systems (OpenTable).
• A passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
• Valid Smart Serve Certification Required.
• Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• This is a full time position.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests in a warm, professional, and timely manner.
• Manage reservation and walk-in traffic using OpenTable.
• Monitor table rotation and coordinate with Front Of House and Back Of House teams to optimize guest flow.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the host stand and entrance area.
• Answer guest inquiries and assist with special requests, wait times, or accommodations.
• Support the overall guest experience with a friendly and attentive approach.
• Assist with bussing tables and support the team by running food and beverages as needed.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Description

Our Hosts create a positive guest experience! They maintain an efficient and organized restaurant through managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity and communicating with all employees. They share with Guests their passion for food, beverage and hospitality. Hosts leave a lasting impression with all guests through their professionalism and attention to detail.
