Job summary

Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga is hiring a Hospitality Porter for M Central Patient Portering on-site. The role transports patients, assists in bed mobility, and moves equipment and supplies across units.

Shift 14:30–22:30, Monday to Friday with rotating weekends. You will work with the Customer Support Call Centre and leadership teams to ensure safe, timely patient transport and a smooth flow of operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write and follow instructions.
• Must have the physical requirements to complete duties.
• Ability to work all shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends).

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via bed, stretcher or wheelchair to and from locations.
• Assists patients in and out of bed, stretcher or wheelchair.
• Transports laboratory specimens between locations.
• Transports deceased patients following protocols.
• Maintains inventory of equipment on unit.
• Transports equipment, furniture and supplies.
• Transports clean and soiled linen.
• Uses cleaning agents to maintain transport equipment.
• Strips and makes up stretchers.
• Maintains communication with Customer Support Call Centre and Leadership.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Work Model: On site

Shift/Hours of Work: 14:30 to 22:30; Monday to Friday with rotating weekends

Position Summary

• Transports patients via bed, stretcher or wheelchair to and from various locations (i.e. patient unit to x-ray)
• Assists patients in and out of bed, stretcher or wheelchair
• Transports laboratory specimens from patient areas to specified laboratory
• Transports deceased patients by following protocols and delivering them to the mortuary
• Maintain inventory of equipment in appropriate area on unit (e.g. Wheelchairs, stretchers)
• Transport of equipment/furniture and supplies
• Transports clean linen
• Pick Up and transport of soiled linen
• Uses chemicals and cleaning agents to maintain transport equipment
• Strip and make up stretchers
• Maintain open and timely communication with Customer Support Call Centre and Leadership team via phone or in person
• Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education and/or equivalent in support services role preferred
• Ability to communicate with patients, visitors, customers and co-workers
• Ability to read and write and follow instructions
• Must have the physical requirements to complete the job duties
• Must be able to work all shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends)
• A positive work and attendance record is essential
