Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a casual relief Utility Worker for Central Zone, Nova Scotia Hospital. Responsibilities include cleaning, mopping, dusting, floor care, carpet shampooing, waste handling, and room set-ups in a hospital environment.

Applicants should have Grade 12/GED, strong communication, and preferred cleaning/floor care experience. French language skills are considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Preference given to applicants with cleaning and floor care experience.
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the hospital through cleaning, mopping and dusting of all areas.
• Perform floor care including scrubbing and waxing; shampoo carpets and chairs.
• Handle waste removal, chemical spill cleanup, laundry tasks and room set-ups.
