Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority in Halifax is seeking casual relief Utility Workers to support Nutrition and Food Services across hospitals and community sites. You will help prepare, portion and serve meals to patients, residents, staff and visitors, and assist with tray delivery and collection.

Reporting to the Food Service Supervisor, you will follow Food Safety standards, assist with menu printing and inventory, and contribute to friendly, patient-centered service across multiple sites on day,

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / GED or equivalent.
• Demonstrated English and basic Math competency.
• Restaurant or food service experience is an asset.
• Customer service skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion and serve patient and visitor meals.
• Assist with meal selections via phone, computer or tablets.
• Deliver meals and nourishments; collect soiled trays.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation and proper storage.
• Generate menus and reports; assist with inventory.
