Job summary

Groves Memorial Community Hospital is seeking a part-time Support Services Attendant to maintain a clean, safe environment and support patient care and cafeteria services. Responsibilities include room setup, food preparation and service, patient transfers, and handling supplies in a regulated healthcare setting.

The role requires a strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork, with union affiliation under UNIFOR Local 1106. Training in healthcare cleaning and food service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma is required.
• Experience in healthcare environmental cleaning or food services is expected.
• Relevant certifications such as cleaning in healthcare and food handling preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Strong communication and dependable service orientation are needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping, cleaning and disinfection, waste and linen handling, and food preparation/serving within patient care and cafeteria areas.
• Transfer patients within the facility and receive/deliver items to departments.
• Manage hospital deliveries and enter items into the electronic supply chain database; arrange shipments.
• Maintain compliance with Broader Public Sector supply chain rules and duties.
• Monitor supply levels, rotate stock, and implement changes as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
