Job summary

Groves Memorial Community Hospital is seeking a part-time Support Services Attendant to maintain a clean, safe environment, perform room setups, and assist with food service within patient care and cafeteria settings.

The role includes patient transfers, supply handling, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Requires a Secondary School Diploma and healthcare/environmental cleaning experience, plus relevant certifications where available.

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma required.
• Certificate in Cleaning in a Healthcare Environment preferred.
• Safe Food Handling Certificate preferred.
• Food Service Worker Program Certificate preferred.
• MSD prevention Safe Client and Materials Handling training required/maintained annually.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Excellent dependability and attendance.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• WHMIS Training and police checks required.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping, cleaning and disinfection, waste disposal, linens handling, and food preparation, storage and delivery.
• Transfer patients within facility and manage supply of transfer equipment.
• Receive, validate and deliver hospital items; enter into electronic supply chain database.
• Arrange hospital shipments and maintain supply levels; rotate stock and update changes.
• Maintain Broader Public Sector (BPS) regulations and segregation of duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
