You bridge the gap between day-to-day hospital operations and NVA Canada. Reporting to the Manager of Regional Operations, you’ll own the daily operations of the hospital by providing exceptional people management, smooth operations, strategic planning & financials, and exceptional client services.

What You Will Do

  • Provide coaching and development to team members ensuring they have the necessary skills to provide exceptional service to patients.
  • Resolve client issues and escalations quickly and oversee client follow-up communications and procedures, including reminders and call-backs.
  • Partner with Managing DVM to address staffing needs including hiring, training, reviewing, and performance management of team members.
  • Take ownership of hospital operations such as creating and maintaining hospital policy including CVO/Controlled Substances and Health and Safety compliance, monitoring computer systems to resolve issues, educating team members on hospital policies and procedures, and managing and fostering vendor relationships.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding, training and development, and annual performance reviews.
  • Track and maintain current licensures for all DVMs.
  • Manage conflict in a timely manner and maintain a positive employee experience and team culture.
  • Ensure payroll is completed and submitted for all hospital staff including DVM production payments.
  • Manage hospital inventory and control facility and administrative costs, continually driving revenue and managing costs to budget.
  • Drive client visits through strategic communication and local marketing efforts (e.g., community outreach).
  • Utilize and implement the NVA Incentive Bonus Plan to meet hospital goals.
  • Manage all hospital staff, including grooming and boarding staff where applicable.
  • Perform other duties essential to the performance of the hospital as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience leading teams and managing day-to-day operations.
  • Proficient in navigating ambiguity and making well-informed decisions, willing to take calculated risks and remain resilient during times of uncertainty.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of operational strategy and adept in aligning team goals with organizational objectives, demonstrating confidence in leading teams through periods of change.
  • Collaborative by nature, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A knack for organization and time management.
  • A love for animals and a love for people who love them.

It’s a Bonus If You Have

  • Experience working in the veterinarian or dental and healthcare industries, or in retail and hospitality management.
  • Skilled in building teams and maintaining a high performing culture.
  • Experience with payroll, budgeting, and annual goal setting.
  • Familiarity with MS Suite, Ceridian Dayforce, and PIMS software is advantageous.
