Job summary

Timmins and District Hospital is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to process hospital payments for goods and services. You will receive and sort invoices, perform online matching with receiving reports, and resolve discrepancies with Materials Management.

The role requires a college diploma in accounting, strong Excel/Word skills, and the ability to work accurately under deadlines. Bilingual FR/EN is an asset, and MEDITECH AP experience is preferred. HOOPP and BlueCross benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• College diploma in accounting or equivalent.
• Experience in computerized environment is an asset.
• Experience with MEDITECH accounts payable is an asset.
• Ability to work in a computerized environment with accurate data entry.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
• Bilingualism (FR/EN) is an asset.
• COVID-19 vaccination per Ontario guidance.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort all incoming invoices from Hospital suppliers.
• Perform on-line matching of invoices to receiving reports.
• Resolve discrepancies between invoices and receiving reports.
• Obtain approvals for payments not tied to the ordering process.
• Process regular payments including payroll deposits and travel expenses.
• Prepare payments for mailing.
• Arrange USD money orders for US$ payments when needed.
• Complete month-end and year-end AP routines with Materials Management.
• Handle supplier inquiries about payments and credits.
• Maintain AP filing system and reconcile statements.
