Job summary

ParaMed in Leamington, Ontario, is seeking Home Support Workers for part-time roles with travel across Essex County. You will visit patients’ homes, assist with daily living activities, meals, and personal care, and support their comfort and safety.

We provide free and paid training in a 3-week in-class program, with graduation leading to part-time hours, benefits, and union coverage. A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Compassion and active listening skills.
• Passion for helping others in the community.
• Willingness to visit patients in designated area.
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Experience with seniors and/or children is an asset.
• Criminal background screening required upon hire.
• Valid driver license and access to a vehicle.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Travel from patient to patient performing multiple home visits daily.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal-time.
• Perform basic housekeeping duties.
• Provide companionship and support the patient’s well-being.
• Assist with personal hygiene including showering or bathing.
• Support for activities of daily living.

You will receive free and paid training in a full time 3 week in-class program designed to teach you the skills needed to work as a Home Support Worker.
