Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) is seeking a Home and Electronics Sales Associate to support CAF members and their families at an on-site retail location in Victoria. You will help set up electronics, computers, appliances and furniture, provide technical product guidance, and process sales while ensuring shelves are stocked and signage is clear.

Responsibilities include warranty sales, stocking, and handling POS transactions in a busy, customer-focused environment.

• Education, training, or experience combination accepted.
• Food Handling Certification required as applicable.

The Role

As a Home and Electronics Sales Associate, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You assist in the set-up of the electronics, computers, appliances, and furniture departments and provide technical and professional advice on sales and products offered. You assist with ordering stock and ensure that shelves are stocked, faced, and properly signed. You explain and sell extended warranty programs and accessories.

The Home and Electronics Sales Associate may also provide a variety of other retail services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self-serve gas services, and postal services. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine, and maintain a float. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

• An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
• Food Handling Certification, as required

Experience

• In electronics, computers equipment, furniture and appliances
• In selling extended warranty and accessories
• In cash handling
• In sales and merchandising

Competencies

Language Requirements

• English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
• Reading: Basic
