Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) offers a role as a Sales Associate serving CAF members and their families with a focus on customer experience. You will handle regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery, post, and credit plan assistance while operating POS equipment and maintaining accurate cash handling.

This on-site position requires strong communication, teamwork and a customer-first mindset, with opportunities to use modern tools while supporting the military community

Qualifications

  • Education/Training mix as allowed: combination of education, training and experience.
  • Food Handling Certification is required as applicable.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certification Ontario required as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide retail services to CAF members and their families.
  • Operate Point of Sale systems and manage cash drawer.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and ensure shelves are stocked and signed.
  • Assist with food/beverage orders and maintain cleanliness of service areas.

THE ROLE

As a Sales Associate, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You may provide a variety of services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self‑serve gas services, postal services, and assisting CAF members with credit plan applications. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine and maintain a float.

The Sales Associate responds to enquiries from customers providing them with information on merchandising and ensuring the store shelves are stocked, faced, and properly signed. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
  • Food Handling Certification, as required
  • Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification Ontario, as required
Experience
  • In cash handling
  • In food and beverage preparation, as required
  • In food and beverage service, as required
Competencies
  • Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Reading: Basic

Writing: None

Oral: Functional
