Job summary

Dynacare is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support the Histology team in Brampton, ON. You will process laboratory specimens, enter requisitions and results, and ensure quality control standards are met to support downstream diagnostics.

The role is permanent full-time with a Monday–Friday shift from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Work is onsite at 115 Midair Court, Brampton. Strong data entry and English communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Laboratory Assistant program or 1 year of equivalent lab experience.
• Strong specimen processing knowledge.
• MLA Certification preferred.
• Excellent data entry skills required (min 40 wpm).
• Ability to handle incoming/outgoing calls and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication and teamwork.
• Nice to have AS400 or Histology experience.

Responsibilities

• Data enter all patient and test information accurately and timely.
• Verify completeness of documentation and file related paperwork.
• Handle STAT, verbal, critical, and special instructions as required.
• Process add-on test requests and specimen selection.
• Prepare specimens, labeling, receiving, and placement for testing or reference labs.
• Follow guidelines for handling infectious materials.
