Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program.
• Experience providing exceptional customer-focused service in a demanding environment.
• Ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge to troubleshooting.

We’re looking for a Specimen Processing Laboratory Assistant's to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a Lab Assistant you will be responsible for processing of laboratory specimens and/or entering requisitions and/or results accurately and in a timely manner and ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required. Your contributions will make a difference and will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

• Contract Full time - Ends October 31 2027
• Vacancy-Existing
• Shift Monday to Friday 6 pm to 2 AM with rotational Saturday or Sunday 5 PM to 1 AM
• Work style- 100% on site
• Internal application deadline- Sunday October 4, 2026, at 5 PM EST

What YOU bring to the role

• Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
• Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge in troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations for solutions

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS

Working Conditions

• Normal office environment

Pay rate

19.75- 23.50 per hour

The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to level of experience and education requirements.
