Job summary

Dynacare in Brampton, Ontario is seeking a Lab Assistant (Specimen Processing Laboratory Assistant) to join our team. You will process laboratory specimens, enter requisitions and results accurately, and ensure quality checks are performed.

The role is permanent full-time, on-site, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a pay rate of $19.75–$23.50 per hour. MLPAO/CSMLS certification is strongly recommended; prior lab exposure and MS Office skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program.
• Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding, changing environment.
• Self-management, prioritization and collaboration in a high-volume, time-sensitive setting.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply it in troubleshooting.

• Ensures all samples are properly identified, data entered, and labeled.
• Follows protocol(s) for handling of unsuitable samples.
• Addresses client inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.

We’re looking for a Specimen Processing Laboratory Assistant's to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a Lab Assistant you will be responsible for processing of laboratory specimens and/or entering requisitions and/or results accurately and in a timely manner and ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required. Your contributions will make a difference and will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

• Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge in troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations for solutions

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS

Working Conditions

Pay rate: $19.75–$23.50

The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to level of experience and education requirements.
