Job description

Our client is a law firm specializing in family law, estate planning and fertility law with offices in both BC and Alberta. They are seeking an experienced paralegal to join the Vancouver office and join their team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to potential and active clients, including exhibit excellent phone and email etiquette when communicating with clients, courts, and other parties.
  • Regular in‑office attendance required for meetings with clients for document review and signing
  • Daily postings, monthly billings to clients and A/R collections
  • Filing, file maintenance and calendar diarizations, and incoming/outgoing mail
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely for various legal documents.
  • Preliminary drafting and/or transcription of correspondence and legal documents
  • Document filings and court calendar management
  • Ability to use Firm’s software such as Unity, Word, Excel, Adobe, and others in a detailed capacity
  • Filing documents with the applicable court systems
  • Strong proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in all written materials.
  • Understanding of legal procedures in the Family Law area
  • Travel to client sites or court as required by lawyer(s)
  • Other administrative duties as required
Qualifications
  • 5 years’ experience working as a Legal Assistant is required

  • Organized and meticulous capacity with strong attention to follow‑up and detail
  • Ability to take the initiative, prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to follow office direction and office policies
  • Ability to work overtime on occasion and as required

The salary for this position ranges between $60,000 and $70,000 depending on experience.
