Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking an experienced highway project leader to manage multidiscipline design efforts for MTO projects in Ontario. You will guide teams, ensure QA/QC, and drive successful delivery of freeway, interchange, and rehabilitation schemes.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and P.Eng. licensure, with 10–15 years in highway design and project management within consulting. A valid driver's license and strong stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil Engineering and Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
• 10-15 years of progressive experience in highway design and project management within a consulting engineering environment.
• Thorough knowledge of highway and transportation engineering, including policies, regulations, guidelines, and operational procedures.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to work effectively as part of a team and with external stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license with access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
• MTO RAQS system approval for various specialties considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a project manager / highway design lead on multidiscipline detail design highway and bridge projects for MTO.
• Providing mentorship, support, and oversight to other engineers and technical staff working on your projects.
• Supporting and leading a project team to complete designs ranging from freeways, urban and rural multi-lane and two-lane facilities, interchanges, and intersections.
• Ensuring that corporate and client QA/QC practices are completed on all projects.
• Coordinating with clients, approval agencies, utility companies, contractors, etc.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with industry professionals, consultants and other business leaders.
• Preparing proposals, project work plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Monitoring overall work progress and technical performance on projects to ensure timelines and targets are being met.
