Job summary

Job description

Chemco Electrical Contractors Ltd. is seeking an experienced High Voltage Superintendent to lead field operations on substation and high voltage projects across Canada. This is a hands‑on field leadership role for someone who can coordinate crews, oversee daily site activities, uphold safety and quality standards, and work closely with project management to keep projects moving. Estimating experience is considered an asset, but the primary focus of this role is field execution.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead daily construction activities on high voltage and substation projects.
  • Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and site coordination.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure work meets applicable safety requirements.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and project schedules.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and work packages to support field execution.
  • Monitor progress, quality, productivity, and project documentation.
  • Work closely with project managers, clients, third parties, and internal teams.
  • Provide input on constructability, labour planning, and estimating when required.
  • Travel to project sites across Canada as needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in high voltage, substation, utility, or industrial electrical construction.
  • Previous experience leading crews, coordinating site work, or acting in a foreperson/supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety, scheduling, and field coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel for project work.
  • Estimating, take‑off, or bid support experience is considered an asset.
