Job summary

Scholars of Don Mills is seeking a motivated Part-time High School Math, Physics & Coding Tutor to join our team. The selected candidate will teach Math and Physics up to Grade 12 and introduce basic coding and robotics using ScratchJr, Scratch, and LEGO Education SPIKE Prime.

This in-person role requires strong English communication, exceptional organization, and the ability to work in small groups of up to three students.

Qualifications

• Teach Math and Physics up to Grade 12.
• Experience with coding and robotics (ScratchJr, Scratch, LEGO SPIKE Prime).
• Able to teach small groups (up to 3 students).
• Ontario Certified Teacher preferred.
• Vulnerable Sector Check required.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Teach high school math, physics and coding concepts to students.
• Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.
• Maintain organized progress records and communicate with parents.
• Be available Thursdays 4:00 PM–8:00 PM with possible Saturday shifts.

Job description

Scholars of Don Mills is looking for a motivated and energetic Part-time High School Math, Physics & Coding Tutor to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students’ academic growth and personal confidence. The selected candidate will receive training in Scholars’ proven teaching methodology and must be comfortable teaching high school Mathematics and Physics up to Grade 12. Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Ability to teach Math and Physics up to Grade 12
• Experience teaching basic coding and robotics, such as ScratchJr, Scratch, and LEGO Education SPIKE Prime or similar programs.
• Ability to teach groups of up to 3 students
• Ontario Certified Teacher is preferred (flexible at the Centre Director’s discretion)
• Candidates in Teachers College or university designation towards math and/or sciences are encouraged to apply
• Previous experience working with students is an asset
• Vulnerable Sector Check to be completed
• Excellent English oral and written skills
• A passion to help students reach their potential
• Exceptionally organized and high attention to detail

Candidates must be able to work a minimum of one shift per week during our hours of operation listed below. The shift must be on Thursday. An additional shift may be added on Saturday or another day in the future.

• Thursday - 4:00PM - 8:00PM

Pay: $20.00 per hour
