Job summary

Oxford Learning High Park in Toronto is seeking a part-time high school math/physics teacher-tutor. All lessons are pre‑planned, and you will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Work after school, in the evenings, and some Saturdays (4:00pm–8:00pm; 10:00am–3:00pm). In-person role requiring commuting; relocation not provided. Bachelor’s degree preferred; teaching certification is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • Fourth year university students with tutoring experience will be considered.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Grades 9–12 math; Physics 11/12 topics incl. advanced functions, algebra, trig, calculus, vectors.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to 2 students at a time at different levels.
  • Teach online and in-person.
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Fill in post-lesson notes and daily student updates.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

High School Math/Physics Teacher Wanted

Motivated by mathematics and physics? Excited by equations? Eager to help students succeed in math?

Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning High Park is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher‑Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher‑Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (10:00am - 3:00pm). We ask for a commitment of two days as week and until the end of the termin June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in‑person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and Physics 11/12 including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors.
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to2 students at a time at different levels

  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post‑lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
