Job summary

Oxford Learning North York Willowdale is seeking part-time teacher-tutors to help students in grades 9–12 with math and science.

Lessons are pre-planned and you’ll teach both online and in-person to up to three students at a time, following our proven methods. Training is provided.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree or relevant certification, strong English communication, and a passion for helping students build confidence and skills after school hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar in a relevant field
  • Fourth-year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of Grades 9-12 math & science curriculum including algebra, calculus, physics, chemistry, biology

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Teach online and in-person
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Fill in post-lesson notes
  • Complete daily student communication updates
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner

High School Math/Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Motivated by mathematics? Sharp with science? Excited by equations in both fields? Eager to help students succeed in math and science? Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience!

Oxford Learning North York Willowdale is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher‑tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson‑plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements
  • Availability during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
  • Available for a minimum of 2 evenings per week
  • Commitment through to the end of the 2026‑2027 school year (June 30th), with the possibility of continuing through the summer
  • In‑person instruction
  • Ability to commute to the designated location – relocation packages are not available
  • Mandatory vulnerable sector screening

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry and Calculus, as well as vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology.
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
