Job summary

Alberta Precision Labs (APL) is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist I to handle daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting in the Hematology unit. You will perform routine and specialized procedures, maintain quality control, and support training for new staff in a dynamic hospital lab setting.

The role requires registration with the Alberta CMLTA, the ability to work varied shifts, and a flexible, team-oriented approach in a high-volume lab.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
• Strong understanding of quality control theory and application, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting hematology and coagulation analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples.
• Perform routine and specialized procedures in processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.
• Assist in training of new staff and students; work independently and as part of a team.
