Job summary

Barnhart Crane & Rigging is seeking a Heavy Haul Truck Driver to join a team that transports oversized equipment and complex loads across North America. You will work on specialized projects requiring multi-axle, heavy-haul trailers and adherence to DOT safety standards.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required.
• Experience with heavy haul or over-dimensional loads.
• Knowledge of axle weight distribution and load securement.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to inspect/maintain equipment; willingness to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Transport over-dimensional and super loads on local and OTR routes.
• Operate RGN, step deck, double/triple drop trailers, and multi-axle setups.
• Work in a team-based heavy haul operation on complex loads.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Assist with assembly and inspection of trailers and hauling equipment.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and equipment checks.

What You’ll Do

This role offers the opportunity to work on specialized transport projects that go far beyond standard trucking. In this role, you will:

• Transport over-dimensional and super loads across local and over-the-road routes
• Operate equipment including RGN, step deck, double/triple drop trailers, and multi-axle setups
• Work as part of a team-based heavy haul operation on complex loads
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards
• Assist with assembly and inspection of trailers and hauling equipment
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and equipment checks

Required

What You Bring

• CDL Class A license
• Experience with heavy haul or over-dimensional loads
• Knowledge of axle weight distribution and load securement
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to inspect and maintain equipmentFlexibility and willingness to travel frequently

Preferred

• Experience with multi-axle setups (9-axle, dual lane, etc.)
• Experience with hydraulic trailers or specialized hauling equipment
• Double/Triple endorsements
• Ability to operate supporting heavy equipment
