Job summary

Nasittuq seeks Vehicle Mechanics to join our team supporting the North Warning System across remote Arctic sites. This is a 6-weeks-on, 6 weeks-off fly-in/fly-out rotation with company-paid travel and on-site accommodations.

Ideal candidates are experienced, certified mechanics with strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to safety and teamwork in challenging northern environments.

Qualifications

  • Provincial/territorial cert as 310T, 310S, HET, HDE or equivalent.
  • Military QL5 qualification in mechanics (considered).
  • Diesel endorsement is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s licence required.
  • Minimum five years’ hands-on vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance experience.
  • Experience diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Experience with construction equipment, fleet vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Willingness to travel to adjacent sites and work across multiple remote locations.
  • Must wear PPE and work in harsh Arctic environments.
  • Enhanced Reliability or Secret clearance (must obtain).

Vehicle Mechanics - North Warning System - 6/6 Rotation - Fly-In & Fly-Out + Accommodations Provided- Nunavut, NU

Nasittuq is seeking Vehicle Mechanics to join their team supporting the North Warning System across remote Arctic sites. This is a unique opportunity to work on a 6-weeks-on, 6-weeks-off fly-in/fly-out rotation, maintaining a wide range of vehicles and heavy equipment in challenging northern environments. The ideal candidates are experienced, certified mechanics with strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

What You’ll Need
  • Provincial or Territorial Certificate of Qualification as a 310T Truck and Coach Technician, 310S Automotive Service Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, or equivalent recognized trade certification
  • Military QL5 qualification in Heavy Equipment, Heavy Duty Mechanics, Automotive Technician, or equivalent (considered)
  • Diesel endorsement (asset)
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Minimum five years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing vehicles, heavy equipment, diesel-powered systems, or mobile support equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems
  • Experience with construction equipment, fleet vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, off-road equipment, or industrial machinery
  • Ability to travel to adjacent sites and support operations across multiple remote locations
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adverse weather conditions in remote Arctic locations
  • Enhanced Reliability or Secret Level Security Clearance (must obtain and maintain)
