Purpose:

Improving life and business through outstanding service and equipment. Creating continuous value for all.

LEGACY HUMANISM AMBITION READINESS INTEGRITY

Now we’re looking to add a new member to our growing team: someone who is collaborative, hardworking, solution-focused, enjoys a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuous learning.

You’ll love working here…….

As our Heavy Field Equipment Technician - Field, Mobile Crane, you’ll play an integral role in performing major diagnostics and major repairs and servicing all equipment in fleet with minimal supervision. You are responsible for providing the highest quality of service and complying with the company’s established policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for developing and coaching apprentices.

What’s in it for you……

We’re a growing business in an exciting industry. This is a full-time, permanent position and we offer a competitive compensation package, which includes full health and dental, disability, family assistance and a company-sponsored RRSP plan. You’re going to have an amazing feeling of fulfillment when your efforts drive us to become each customer’s first choice for service, equipment and parts.

Position Outline:

• “Service First”. It’s our company slogan and you are driven to support external and internal customers with exceptional solutions. You’ll recognize that our customers’ livelihoods depend on the service they receive from our team.

• Safety Minded. First and foremost – you work safely, following all safety programs and procedures – every time. We have adopted best practices when developing our systems and procedures and you’ll become a champion for consistently staying in the lines.

• Certification. You have done the hard work and training required to earn certification as a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician and you’re ready to apply all that you have learned to make Nors Construction Equipment your customers’ first choice.

• Critical Thinker. You cut to the chase by collecting and examining technical information and make decisions on what is relevant in order to pinpoint issues with different equipment systems. You will have an in-depth understanding of diagnostic tools, how to access product information, and you’ll be proficient in providing solutions to problems in a timely manner with minimal assistance. As well you will thrive on the challenge of troubleshooting and possess the ability to read various system diagrams

• Keeping Your Cool. You may need to work under pressure while maintaining a strong focus on quality service. As well, you could be working in remote areas with limited access to technical support or working in extreme weather conditions – hot, cold, raining, snowing, greasy and dusty. This can be a physical job with heavy lifting and carrying. The pace can be fast, the hours can be long during busy cycles and you may also need to work overtime. You will also realize that you need to recharge regularly – we insist that you take your vacation time!

• Relationship Builder. You’re going to get to know your customers, their equipment, and their business. You’ll build rapport and trust and you’ll be able to provide information and solutions to keep your customers up and running.

• Vigilance. Report customer satisfaction, trends and other useful information to your service supervisor. Report any possible leads for equipment sales to the sales team. Develop rapport with customers and be the eyes and ears of the branch; take opportunities to make a difference.

• Mentorship. Listen actively and perform competence analysis of apprentice technicians. Identify areas for them to improve and provide on the job training to assist in their development.

• Organization. This is a detail-oriented position and you have already developed personal systems for organizing your work, ensuring you are prepared with information, parts and specialty tooling prior to attending a worksite.

Experience Required:

• Red Seal or Journeyperson Technician Certification

• 2-5 years related experience

• Solid knowledge of equipment systems and repairs

• Good communications skills with peers and supervisors

• Basic knowledge of computer applications

• Committed to continuous learning

• Strong technical background and capable of communicating with technicians and customers regarding parts and service

• Health & Safety Knowledge – OH & S rules and regulations guidelines

Education Required:

• Heavy Equipment Technician Red Seal certification
