Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience performing service repairs.

As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you’ll diagnose and repair compact construction equipment. You’ll be the go‑to expert our customers rely on to keep their operations running, handling everything from routine maintenance to advanced diagnostics. You’ll maintain your tools and service vehicle, and stay sharp through ongoing training.

  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair Compact Construction Equipment as required.
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  • Participates in required Service JDU (John Deere University) Training programs.
  • Reviews and explains any maintenance, repair, or other service concerns directly with the service office and documents on work order.
  • May be required to discuss technical items and repair details with customers.
  • May be requested to support customer product clinics.
  • 2+ years of experience performing service repairs.
  • 421A or 425A License is required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
  • Ability to work with a computer is required.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Has a valid Drivers license & can supply a clean drivers abstract.
