Job summary

Tahltan NationDevelopment Corporation (TNDC) is now accepting resumes for multiple heavy equipment operators with large earthworks and civil earthwork construction project experience. This position requires staying in a remote camp during a 2 week on/2 week off rotation, working 12-hour shifts and enduring outdoor conditions in varied weather.

Reporting to the site supervisor, you will maintain equipment, perform safety inspections, and operate excavators, dozers, loaders or rock trucks as

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Proven commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Able to take direction, follow instructions, adapt to changing priorities and multitask.
• Strong work ethic with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Positive attitude with an attention to safety.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and able to use diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities.
• Attend toolbox, safety, and other meetings or discussions as required.
• Maintains equipment in good operating condition, reporting and logging maintenance requirements or concerns.
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently and be open to run multiple pieces of equipment during your rotation if required.
• Follow all site, company and client-specific safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment being operated.
• Participate in assigned training.
• Assist in general labour and other duties as required.
