Job summary

Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) is currently accepting resumes for Heavy Equipment Operators for large earthworks projects. The selected candidates will work in a remote camp setting on a 2 week on/2 week off rotation, performing 12-hour shifts and adhering to safety standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

Tahltan NationDevelopment Corporation (TNDC) is now accepting resumes for multiple equipmentoperators with large earthworks and civil earthwork construction projectsexperience. TNDC is looking for those who are committed to a positive and safework environment, practice safe work procedures and arrive for work on-time andready for work! Successfulapplicants will be required to work and stay in a remote camp se ng during their entire shift on a 2 weekon/2 week off rotation, working 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities:

Reporting to thesite supervisor, or designate, responsibilities include, but are not limitedto:

  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safetyinspections and completes daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for allactivities.
  • Attend toolbox, safety, and othermeetings or discussions as required.
  • Maintains equipment in good operatingcondition, reporting, and logging maintenance requirements or concerns.
  • Operate heavy equipment safely andefficiently and be open to run multiple pieces of equipment during yourrotation if required.
  • Follow all site, company and client-specific safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenanceon equipment being operated.
  • Participate in assigned training.
  • Assist in general labour and otherduties as required.
Education and Experience
  • Previous experience operating one ormore of the following in a mining, industrial, or heavy civil environment:excavators, dozers, loaders, and rock trucks.
  • Previous experience with rotationalschedules and remote camp life.
  • Incorporates HS&E concepts intowork activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety(co-workers, clients, and sub trades).
  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment with good safety awareness.
  • Experience with radio communicationsand protocols.
  • Able to take direction, followinstructions, adapt to changing priorities and multitask.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Strong work ethic with an ability towork independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communicationskills and able to use diagnostics.
  • A team player who works respectfullyand cooperatively with others.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

Working Conditions

This position isbased in a field environment and must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, goodphysical condition, stamina, and handle up to 50 lbs. Must also be able to workboth day and nightshifts, as well as rotational shifts.
