Job summary

Suncor is hiring to operate heavy equipment at Syncrude mines in Fort McMurray. This role requires 3 years of heavy equipment experience, a valid driver’s license, and a strong safety mindset. Relocation assistance is provided to move within 60 km of Fort McMurray.

You will work six days on, six days off, 12-hour shifts, at Syncrude Mildred Lake or Aurora sites. This safety‑sensitive position offers relocation support and housing assistance.

Qualifications

• Heavy equipment experience required (3 years) in open pit mining.
• Valid driver’s license with a 2-year clean driving record.
• Proven safety mindset and ability to focus for long periods.
• Relocation within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory with relocation support.

Responsibilities

• Operate haul trucks, shovels, backhoes, dozers and graders per standards.
• Perform safety checks, walk-arounds, and field level risk assessments.
• Train and mentor others.
• Report repairs and incidents to maintenance and supervisors.
• Participate in and drive continuous improvement programs.
