Job summary

Everclear Metal Recycling Ltd. in Mission, BC, is seeking a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our outdoor yard team.

This hands-on role requires operating material handlers and excavators, loading scrap metal, and ensuring efficient, safe operations in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate has prior heavy equipment experience, forklift cert is a plus, and is physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Heavy equipment operating experience required.
• Experience in scrap metal recycling, demolition, construction, forestry, or aggregate industries is an asset.
• Forklift certification is an asset; training may be provided.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to identify equipment issues.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely, including material handlers, excavators with grapple and magnet attachments, and other equipment as needed.
• Load and unload scrap metal from trucks and containers.
• Sort, process, and move ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Maintain safe traffic flow in the yard.
• Complete daily inspections and equipment records.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
• Report hazards, equipment issues, and maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow WorkSafeBC regulations, company safety policies, and environmental procedures.
• Assist with general yard duties and support efficient operations.

Salary: $28.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience
