Job summary

Nhwelmen Construction is seeking an Off Road Haul Truck Operator to join our growing team in Kamloops, BC. The position offers long-term employment with the opportunity to work safely in a mining or civil construction environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years of experience operating a rigid frame or articulated haul truck, a valid Class 5 licence with a clean driving record, and the ability to perform labour tasks and outdoor work in all weather.

Qualifications

• Must complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with clean abstract.
• 1–3+ years experience operating a Rigid Frame or Articulated Haul Truck.
• Willingness to perform labour tasks and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate off-road haul trucks safely in mining or civil construction environments.
• Conduct daily 360° inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Pre-inspection checks and topping up fluids as required.
• Complete work reports and maintenance logs accurately.
• Follow equipment maintenance schedules and document repairs.

Job description

We are currently recruiting Off Road Haul Truck Operatorsto join ourgrowing team.

What we offer:

• $28 to $35 per hour based on experience
• Long-term employment for qualified individuals

General Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work safely in a mining or civil construction environment following company procedures and policies
• Daily 360° inspection of all equipment for operational and safety checks and advise if repair is required
• Pre-inspection of equipment includes checking all fluid level and ensuring they are topped up as needed
• Accurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs as required
• Follow equipment maintenance schedule and advise if repair is required
• Regularly perform safety inspection of equipment and tools
• Support operations through manual labour, including shoveling, operating powered equipment, loading and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, light maintenance, and other duties as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract
• Operates safely with care and attention to the equipment, the jobsite and the crew
• 1 - 3 plus years’ experience operating a Rigid Frame or Articulated Haul Truck
• Familiar with Field Level Hazard Assessment
• Willingness to step out of the cab and perform labour tasks if and when required
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
• Strict attention and compliance with equipment cleanliness, maintenance and completing logs
• Experience on other equipment is an asset
• Mining experience an asset
• Reliable transportation

Location: This position is based out of the Kamloops / Thompson area of British Columbia. This is not a camp position.
