Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to service and repair heavy equipment across our branch network in Canada. You will diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and document maintenance work while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires mechanical experience in heavy equipment, a Journeyperson certification or equivalent, and the ability to work with customers and service teams. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate working condition of heavy duty equipment and diagnose issues
  • Assemble/disassemble and order parts as needed
  • Document all actions on work orders accurately
  • Safely use related tools and computer systems like John Deere Service Advisor
  • Conduct road tests and verify attachment operation
  • Use parts catalogues to locate and order parts
  • Maintain safety standards and report hazards

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
What We Look For
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
