Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our St-Georges Construction & Forestry location in Saint-Georges, Canada. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment for customers and dealers, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

You will document all actions on work orders, use John Deere Service Advisor for diagnostics, and coordinate parts with parts personnel. Apprentices or Journeypersons in heavy equipment trades are preferred.

Qualifications

• Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proven computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
• Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• A commitment to high quality customer service with a strong people orientation.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment.
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken.
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards.
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our St-Georges Construction & Forestry location.

This position is responsible for performing basic/complex diagnostics, service maintenance and repair work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment on an efficient basis.

• Enrolled as an Apprentice or certified Journeyperson in the heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
