Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Surrey is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician to repair and maintain construction and forestry equipment and attachments. You will diagnose, disassemble/assemble, order parts, and perform tests as needed.

The role requires strong communication with customers and the service team, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety. Prior heavy equipment experience or journeyperson status is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Experience in heavy equipment preferred.
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment trade preferred.
• Must be able to communicate with customers and team.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently evaluate working condition of heavy duty equipment.
• Diagnose, assemble/disassemble, and repair equipment and attachments.
• Order parts from parts personnel and document work orders.
• Record machine information, actions taken, and time.
• Maintain safety and adhere to standards.
• Use John Deere Service Advisor or similar tools to document maintenance and diagnosis.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Surrey Construction and Forestry location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnelRoad test equipment and check attachment operation as required

• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
