Position Overview:

NCSG Hauling & Rigging is seeking a 2nd or 3rd year Heavy-Duty Apprentice Mechanic to assist our maintenance team supporting our Calgary shop. The Heavy-Duty Apprentice Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance and servicing property, equipment, and vehicles.

Your responsibilities include:

• Perform daily maintenance of property, equipment (e.g., Trucks and Platform Trailers), and vehicles throughout the facility.
• Inspect and evaluate operating conditions of equipment and vehicles.
• Perform maintenance activities and modify existing equipment and systems to keep the facility in good working order.
• Read, understand, and follow hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical diagrams.
• Ensure all maintenance is completed according to department policies and safety regulations.
• Attend training sessions to update technical knowledge as needed.
• Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2nd or 3rd year apprentices considered; previous truck and trailer experience preferred.
• Must have a valid and current apprenticeship in place.
• CVIP Tech License is an asset.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Experience with Heavy Haul Trucks, Cummins/Detroit Diesel engines, SISU Planetary axles, and Platform Trailers preferred.
• Experience with Sheuerle and Goldhofer trailers is an asset; training can be provided.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Position Details:

• Own tools are required at the start and end of the work term, at own expense.
• Successful completion of pre-employment alcohol & drug testing required.
