Park Paving, a long-standing locally owned company, is seeking an experienced JOURNEYMAN/WOMAN HEAVY DUTY TECHNICIAN to join the Maintenance Division based out of Sherwood Park, AB. The role requires a Heavy Duty Mechanic License and involves field service across Edmonton and surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on the fleet, coordinate with supervisors, and complete paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Heavy Duty Mechanic License.
  • Experience in field service of heavy-duty equipment.
  • Ability to complete required paperwork and reports.
  • Pass a medical/fitness exam and have a clean driving record.
  • CVIP inspections are preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with supervisors, administration and workers to complete work orders efficiently.
  • Lead and guide others with limited supervision.
  • Diagnose, test, troubleshoot, replace parts and equipment as required.
  • Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on fleet equipment.
  • Complete and file work orders after job completion.

Job description

Park Paving has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road constructions contractors servicing Edmonton and the surrounding area, and we are looking for an experienced JOURNEYMAN/WOMAN HEAVY DUTY TECHNICIAN to join Maintenance Division based out of Sherwood Park, AB. You must possess a Heavy Duty Mechanic License to qualify for this role.

Please note that on road and off road Mechanics or apprentices with equipment and truck experience will be considered.

This is a full-time permanent position with competitive wages and benefits.

This position will primarily be in the field performing a variety of duties related to heavy duty equipment services and repairs on our fleet in the Edmonton and surrounding area.

The successful candidate's primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating with supervisors, administration, and workers, for the purpose of completing all work orders efficiently and effectively.
  • Work under limited supervision, leading, guiding and working with others, as required.
  • Fill out required paperwork. This would include forms such as work orders, hazard assessment sheets, daily time sheets, repair list.
  • Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, and replace, parts and equipment/controls as required
  • Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance of all equipment or assets.
  • Working alone in the field servicing heavy duty equipment
  • Complete CVIP inspections preferred but not mandatory
  • Compile a list of repairs needed during your inspection and go over with your direct report for repair authorization.
  • Fill out and hand in work orders upon job completion.
  • Keep your work areas, benches, and toolboxes clean and organized.
  • CVIP license is preferred but not mandatory.

Successful candidates will be licensed or apprentice Heavy Duty Technicians with a valid driver license and have a strong operating knowledge of a wide range of heavy-duty equipment that will allow them to effectively diagnose and repair any potential problem in conjunction with their direct supervisors, and other employees while maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
