Job summary

Pro Energy is seeking a skilled Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Alberta. You will diagnose, repair and maintain diesel- and gas-powered generators and related systems, applying hands-on experience with heavy equipment and power generation.

The role requires strong electrical diagnostics skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced setting. Training opportunities may be available for strong candidates.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for journeyman status in heavy‑duty mechanics.
• Strong knowledge of electrical diagnostics and load testing.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests, preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel and gas engines.
• Complete routine inspections/services and document findings.
• Respond to field service calls and perform routine equipment repairs.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and diagrams.
• Ensure all work is safe and compliant with company policies and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on mechanical experience with heavy equipment and a strong understanding of power generation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic tests, preventative maintenance, and repairs on diesel and gas engines

• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Journeyman Heavy-Duty Mechanic or Registered Heavy-Duty Mechanic Apprentice preferred; willing to train candidate who has a strong interest in pursuing a career in the mechanical trade.
• Strong knowledge of electrical diagnostics and load testing
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Must live within commuting distance
• Safety certifications/tickets are considered an asset
