We are growing and looking for a qualified Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic to join our team TODAY.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial transport vehicles, ensuring all work complies with manufacturer specifications and legislated regulations. This role involves interpreting and processing work orders, providing performance evaluations, mentorship, and supervision to apprentices.

Scope of Work:

  • Maintain equipment at high standards, ensuring proper function and availability.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems to identify faults.
  • Diagnose, adjust, repair, or replace parts of truck systems including chassis, engine, drive train, air brakes, steering, and electrical systems.
  • Service trailer systems including structural, brake, and electrical components.
  • Promote safety and quality awareness, adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic with a minimum of 3 years' experience
  • CVIP Certification (considered an asset)
  • Class 1 License (considered an asset)
  • Safety-conscious with a focus on maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Ability to interpret work orders and manuals
  • Experience in scheduled preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis
  • Capable of working in a physically demanding environment
  • Highly organized with excellent documentation skills
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
