Job summary

GFL Environmental in Victoria, BC is seeking a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks and motorized equipment, ensuring reliability and safety for the communities we serve. Applicants must be Red Seal/Certified Mechanics and able to perform maintenance, rebuilds and diagnostics in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

What's required:

Mechanics must have:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired
• 1+ year experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
• Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
• Follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records
• Willingness to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
• Exert physical effort including pushing, pulling, bending and lifting items up to 100 lbs.
• Use fine motor coordination with arm, hand, finger and leg dexterity
• Ability to kneel, crawl and climb
