Qualifications

  • Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Journeyperson certification is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory abstract.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs on wide range of heavy-duty/specialized municipal equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Repair and maintain vacuum trucks, hydro-vac units, street sweepers, refuse/recycling trucks, sewer inspection equipment, and other specialty vehicles.
  • Complete work orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining service documentation.
  • Collaborate with Service Writer, Parts Department, and fellow technicians to maximize uptime and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in line with safety standards.

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and safety-focused Heavy Duty Equipment Journeyperson to join our team in Manitoba. In this hands‑on role, you will inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of specialized municipal and public works equipment, including vacuum trucks, hydro‑vac units, street sweepers, refuse and recycling trucks, and other heavy‑duty vehicles. Working closely with the Service Writer, Parts Department, and fellow technicians, you will help maximize equipment uptime while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service. The ideal candidate is a licensed Journeyperson with strong troubleshooting skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering exceptional workmanship in a collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of heavy‑duty and specialized municipal equipment.

Position Details

Location: West St. Paul, Manitoba

Status: Permanent, Full‑Time

Compensation Type: Hourly (overtime paid in accordance with applicable employment legislation)

Schedule: Monday to Friday; occasional extended hours may be required based on operational needs

Travel: Minimal travel (approximately 0–2%)
