Job summary

Joe Johnson Equipment (JJE) in London, Ontario is hiring a full-time Licensed Technician to perform inspections, diagnostics and repairs on municipal equipment. You will service vac trucks, hydro vacs, street sweepers, and related heavy-duty fleets, collaborating with the service writer and parts teams to ensure efficient service.

Candidates should hold a 310T or 421A license, have hydraulic/electrical system knowledge, and a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.

Qualifications

• Valid 310T Truck & Coach or 421A Heavy Equipment Technician license.
• Experience with heavy equipment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Valid driver's license with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty municipal equipment.
• Work on vac trucks, hydro vacs, street sweepers, and refuse/recycling trucks.
• Collaborate with Service Writer and Parts team for efficient service.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Day Shift | 42.5 hrs./week

Compensation & Rewards

• $40.00 to $45.00 per hour for licensed technicians.

What You’ll Do

• Perform safety inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on a wide range of heavy-duty and niche municipal equipment.
• Work on vac trucks, hydro vacs, street sweepers, refuse/recycling trucks, and more.
• Collaborate with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure efficient service.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

What You Bring

• Valid 310T Truck & Coach or 421A Heavy Equipment Technician
• Previous experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract
• Positive attitude, safety-first mindset, and a team-oriented approach
• Similar experience may include Heavy-Duty Mechanic, Field Service Technician, Automotive Mechanic, Small Engine Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Truck and Coach Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician, Road Service Technician, Shop Mechanic, Lead Hand, Shop Foreman
